In the midst of the Sandy Hook tragedy, Kamiak High School senior Ayva Thomas made 26 angel Christmas ornaments, each one with the name of one of the students or educators who were killed on Dec. 14. She and other students hung the ornaments on the holiday tree in the Commons.

“I made the ornaments to bring us all together and to show we care,” Ayva said. “Our hearts go out to everyone, the victims and their families. We’ll always remember them."
