4th annual Spring Fling is April 7
Bring a hearty appetite, your favorite dancing shoes and a taste for the timeless music of Duke Ellington to the fourth annual Everett Philharmonic Spring Fling on Sunday, April 7.
This gala fundraising event will be held 5:30-9:30 p.m. in the ballroom of the Everett Events Center, at 2000 Hewitt Ave. in Everett.
The event is a mini concert with dining and dancing, featuring the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra, soloist Laurie Swanson and guest emcee Dave Beck from KUOW-FM.
The program highlights music from Duke Ellington, and includes a gourmet dinner and live music for dancing the night away. The evening includes a champagne reception and no-host bar, music from The Curators, and a silent auction.
Auction items to choose from include a two night stay on Orcas Island, restaurant coupons with tickets to concerts and sporting events, a private sunset cruise for six on Lake Union, hand crafted garden art, and food and grill items.
The Everett Philharmonic mini concert will feature vocalist Laurie Swanson and the orchestra’s own principal oboist.
Music director Dr. Paul-Elliott Cobbs has chosen a program that includes but is not limited to favorites such as “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore,” “Do Nothing ‘Til You Hear From Me,” “Sophisticated Lady” and “It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing.”
Dinner includes your choice of:
• Bacon wrapped roasted pork center loin – with maple beurre blanc, pistachio crusted roasted red pepper rice cake and seasonal vegetables.
• Garlic roasted chicken breast – with chervil Chardonnay beurre blanc, pistachio crusted roasted red pepper rice cake and seasonal vegetables
• Minted sweet pea ravioli – pea shoot sauté, white wine butter sauce and chive finishing oil. All dinners include salad, artisan bread, dessert, wine and coffee.
