Part 1:   9 - 10 a.m.:  Dementia Basics (for general audience)

What is dementia?  What is Alzheimer's disease?

What can I expect if my loved one has dementia?

Where can I go for help?

 

Part 2: 10 a.m. to noon:  Communication and Problem Solving with Persons with Dementia

(for family caregivers, friends, and Stephens Ministers)

 

How can I improve communication with a person with dementia?

How can I learn to understand dementia-related behaviors and how do I deal with them?

How can I help to decrease distress and improve quality of life for my loved one and myself?

Please note that this presentation is not appropriate for the person with memory loss.
