A ‘taste’ of the world’s cultures
Mariner High School hosted Culture Week Jan. 10-16, where an array of cultures are shared with the school.
The week included Hispanic, Middle Eastern, Asian/Pacific Islander, European and African days, leading up to an Martin Luther King Jr. assembly. Students were show maps, facts, clothing, music and served food specific to each day’s featured culture.
“Culture Week has always been a favorite of the students and increases school involvement,” said student Bianca Bayas. “[We] really get a taste of the countries from all over the world.”
