All volunteers eligible for free tickets to AquaSox game
For more than a dozen years, United Way of Snohomish County has hosted Volunteer Appreciation Night at the Everett AquaSox.
The annual event is a “Thank You” to all Snohomish County volunteers and their families.
This year’s event will be held at 6:40 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at Everett Memorial Stadium.
United Way will also present the winner of this year’s Roger Bouck Award for Volunteerism in Action just before the first pitch against the Eugene Emeralds. The hashtag for this year’s event will be #SoxVolNight
Any Snohomish County resident who volunteered with any organization in any capacity is eligible for the free tickets for themselves and their family.
To reserve tickets, please call 425.374.5530 or email firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, Aug. 16. Tickets can be picked up at the Will Call booth at the stadium.
Snohomish County’s largest two-day volunteer event, Days of Caring is scheduled for Sept. 13 and 14. To volunteer as an individual or with a group, visit http://www.uwsc.org/daysofcaring.php.
If you are interested in finding other opportunities to volunteer, United Way has an online database featuring more than 300 volunteer opportunities at more than 100 nonprofit agencies throughout the county at http://www.uwsc.org/volunteer.php
The Roger Bouck Award for Volunteerism in Action is named for Roger Bouck, a tireless volunteer with United Way of Snohomish County, Rotary International and Bluebills.
He was the recipient of the Governor’s Award for Excellence for Outstanding Volunteer Service in 2005.
In 2006, he received United Way’s Spirit of Snohomish County Reeves/Sievers Founders’ Award for lifetime commitment to community service. He passed away in 2009.
Last year’s winner of the Roger Bouck Award was Donna Rice of Startup, who is known in the community for serving meals to the homeless, caring for seniors and helping as a midwife - delivering 350 babies over the past 50 years - all as a volunteer.
