An agenda to serve his community | Letter
Editor, The Beacon:
It has been my good fortune to be able to call Richard Emery a friend and neighbor. If you need help, advice, good conversation or inspiration you can count on Richard.
I know him to be a caring and honest man. One who feels it is his duty to spend time in service to the community.
I recently asked him why he wants to be on the City Council. It is a rare breed of person who wants to devote a significant amount of their time to such a challenging assignment.
He told me that it honors his need to serve and contribute to the community. He likes to investigate the issues, work to build understanding and consensus and move forward to action.
Over the next four years, Richard said he would like to work on maintaining Paine Field Airport as it is today, for Boeing and small private pilots, not commercial flight.
He would like to see safe walkways so adults and kids can safely walk in their neighborhoods and talk with their neighbors. Richard is interested in utilizing sustainable practices within the city and making the permit process easier.
He supports the Japanese Gulch and will work to ensure the property will be secured for parkland for everyone to enjoy.
Richard cares about people and will work for us to ensure that Mukilteo will continue to be a community where people want to live. A community your kids would like to raise their kids in.
