Anderson, Pace win at Eason Invitational | Track and field

Kamiak’s Alicia Anderson took first place in the girls 1,600-meter race at the annual Eason Invitational Saturday, April 22, at Snohomish High School.

Anderson finished in 5:01.98. The Knights’ 400 relay team of Emma Harrison, Noelle Young, Sarah Nehring and Savannah Congdon finished second. Kamiak’s Tara Koonce was third in the hammer, seventh in the shot put and 17th in the discus.

Mariner’s Suzy Pace won the high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 2 inches. She also was third in the 100 and 300 hurdles. Mariner’s distance medley team of Abbie Steinhauer, Tiana Nguyen, Kara Sevigny and Daisy Rubish finished second.

In the boys meet, Mariner’s Romelo Mangum took second in the 100 and Jammie Phea tied for second in the high jump. Kamiak’s Cullen McEachern placed second in the 1,600 and helped the 1,600 relay squad, along with Adam Alayli, Patrick Olson and Taylor Barnes, take second. Kamiak’s Poun Phongprasansak finished second in the hammer and Alayli was third in the long jump.
