Arlington edges Kamiak | Prep wrestling
The Kamiak wrestling team lost a close non-league match to Arlington on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The final score was 45-30 for the Eagles.
In the 106-weight class, Kyle James was pinned in 1:03 by Trey Swanson, and Talmage Nishimoto was pinned by Jeremy Nygard in 31 seconds in the 113 division.
Kamiak’s Ryan James won the 120 match by pinning Danny Herrera in 3:35, while teammate Finn O’Hea was pinned in 1:09 by Clayton Hunter in the 126 division.
Nathan Goodwin lost the 132-weight class to Parker Spady after being pinned in 1:45. Mark Bienick was pinned by Conner Gonzales in 1:13 in the 138 match, and Tyler Frisch lost the 145 division by 11-10 decision to Champ Barney.
Spencer Mitchell lost the 152-weight class match to Scott Bardell by a 10-3 decision and teammate David Bikoev beat George Spady in the 160 match by pin in 1:37.
Tyler Webley won his 170-weight class match over Ivan Garcia by pin in 36 seconds. Connor Mitchell lost by a 9-6 decision to Jake Ferro in the 182 match, while teammate Brice Clariday was pinned in 4:55 by Michael Powell in the 195 match.
Kamiak’s Tanner Kunard won the 220 division by pinning DeeShawn Benjamin in 4:55 and Jacob DeCook lost the 285 weight class after being pinned in 47 seconds by Tyler Lindberg.
The Knights, now 0-3 this season, will travel to Pasco, Wash. for the Best of the West tournament on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 20-21.
