Get the brows you’ve always dreamed of.

Shannon Stryker opened Honeybee Skin and Wax Studio at 12189 Greenhaven Ste. 110 in Mukilteo’s Bella Terra Village Center on the first of the year.

“I love Mukilteo,” Stryker said. “I grew up here, and it is an amazing city because you can have a business and have a family, all within the same city.

“I love the community aspect of it. People really care about each other here.”

Stryker, of Mukilteo, has been in the industry for almost eight years now, working as a make-up artist and esthetician. She started in make up, and quickly realized her passion for skin care, waxing, and especially, the art of the eyebrow.

“Owning my own business has always been a dream of mine, and Honeybee is the product of those eight years paying off,” she said. “It is my way of giving back the knowledge I have learned, to the women in my community.”

Honeybee is a full-service waxing salon – Stryker does everything from brow shaping to brazilians. She specializes in eyebrow shaping and tinting.

“I’ve been trained by some of the best in the industry, as far as eyebrow shaping goes,” she said.

She also offers eyelash perming (which gives the lash a curl that lasts up to six weeks), lash tinting and brow bleaching. She will soon be offering PCA Peels.

Stryker started her business when she realized there was nowhere north of Seattle to go and get a great eyebrow wax. She doesn’t just wax your brows, she tells you where you need to grow or fill them in to achieve the most perfect arch.

She said the eyebrows are the most important feature on the face, and that it goes beyond what make up and skin care can do – with the right brow, you can look refreshed and years younger.

“I love making women feel better about themselves,” Stryker said. “I am a mother and a wife, and know how much women can ignore themselves because they are taking care of everyone else around them.

In her salon, she strives to offer a very relaxed and laid-back atmosphere for waxing.

“I believe waxing should not be a dramatic experience,” she said. “I want you to feel better and look better when you leave.

“Honeybee is a place for you to come and focus on you for a few.”
