Chamber to tour Scotland in OctoberInfo meeting set for Jan. 11 at Chamber office
Now in its third year, the Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce’s Travel With The Chamber program is destined for Scotland.
In 2015, 25 people traveled to China. In 2016, another 25 traveled to the Tuscan region of Italy.
After considering New Zealand, Cuba, Peru and Scotland, the Chamber chose Scotland for this year’s trip based on the price and input from Chamber members and past travelers, Marketing Director Kim Voetberg said.
An informational meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at the Chamber office at 4902 76th St. SW in Mukilteo.
Travelers will fly from Seattle to Glasgow on Oct. 2 and tour the country for 10 days before returning Oct. 12 from Edinburgh. During the trip, travelers visit Glasgow, Ballachulish, the Isle of Skye, Thurso, the Orkney Islands, Aviemore and Edinburgh. Along the way, travelers visit such attractions as the Kelvingrove Art Museum, the National Piping Centre, Loch Lomond, the Inveraray Jail, Eilean (island) Donan Castle, Loch Ness, the Ring of Brodgar, Dunrobin Castle and Culloden Battlefield, the Leault Sheepdog Farm, Edradour Distillery, the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Edinburgh Castle.
The $3,499 (double occupancy) travel package through Indus, a British Columbia-based tour operator, includes all tours, eight nights of accommodations, round-trip airfare, breakfasts, dinners, ground transportation, porterage for one piece of luggage and an English-speaking guide, according to a brochure available on the Chamber’s website, mukilteochamber.org.
