Chief Caldwell has a heart for community | Letter

May 07, 2014

Editor, The Beacon:

It came as no surprise to read about Chief Rex Caldwell receiving an award [Police chief receives My Boss is a Patriot award, The Beacon, page 2, April 30] for his support of the Mukilteo Police Department employees who are members of the National Guard and Reserves.

Anyone who knows Chief Caldwell is well aware of his willingness to actively participate in many community events. Whether he is collecting food for those in need or flipping thousands of pancakes during the annual Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, Rex is ready to step up and become involved.

Should you happen to see Chief Caldwell around town, take a moment and thank him for all he does for the Mukilteo community. For those who have the privilege to work with him, I would ask that you dedicate at least one day toward treating him with kindness and respect. The remaining days are up to you.

Thank you for all you've done and continue to do, Chief Caldwell.

Best regards,

Rod Amburgy,

Mukilteo
