Maplewood Presbyterian Church will host the annual celebration of World Day of Prayer 2012 in South Snohomish County on Friday, Mar. 1 at 10 a.m.

This ecumenical prayer service, written by women of France on the theme "I Was a Stranger and You Welcomed Me", will be led by women from South County churches.

The World Day of Prayer is a worldwide ecumenical movement of people of many faith traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer on the first Friday of March each year.

A social time with light refreshments will follow the service at Maplewood Presbyterian Church, 19523 84th Avenue W, Edmonds.
