Recycle cellphones

Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County is recycling cellphones. Cell phones even without service can call 911 when charged. Cell phones may be given to victims of domestic violence to keep them safe. Now also accepting iPads and iPhones! Drop off at New and Again Thrift Shoppe, 3116 Rucker Ave., Everett. Holiday Hoops Camp

9 a.m. to noon. The girls basketball Holiday Hoops Camp is Dec. 26 and 27. This camp is for girls in grades 3-7. The cost is $55. This fun-filled day emphasizes the basic fundamental skills of basketball, such as shooting, defense, dribbling, rebounding, passing, teamwork and good sportsmanship. Community Knitting Group

Providence seeks volunteers

Providence Hospice & Home Care of Snohomish County is seeking volunteer barbers to serve patients in the following areas: Marysville, Arlington, Monroe, and Everett. Help patients retain their self esteem and dignity by providing them with haircuts. Based on a travel experience to Nepal Nov. 18 to Dec. 1, Dr. Jean Ann French will give a first-hand report on the work of Maiti Nepal regarding prevention and trafficking of young women in Nepal. Alzheimer’s caregiver support group

6:30-8 p.m. Caring for someone with memory loss? Alzheimer’s Association caregiver support groups provide a place for caregivers to learn and gain support from others caring for a person with memory loss. Starting in February, a free support group for unpaid care partners, family members and friends of individuals with memory loss will be held the fourth Tuesday each month.
