Cops carry the ‘Flames of Hope’ for Special Olympics
Seen in the reflection from a patrol car’s side mirror, officers Shaun Greenmun and Colt Davis with the Mukilteo Police Department run in the Special Olympics Washington Torch Run on Friday, May 30 from 75th Street S.E. to Lincoln Way. Their route along Evergreen Way was about 4.7 miles. Davis is carrying the “Flames of Hope.”
Law enforcement officers from across Washington ran the torch to the Special Olympics Summer Games held May 30-June 1 at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. This is the first time that Mukilteo had a leg in the run.
Others who ran the torch but are not pictured: Officer Brenda Greenmun, city staffers Shawna Gossett and Wanda Locke, Police Chief Rex Caldwell and Councilmember Chris Cook.
