Dentist office spreads Aloha spirit with food drive
The Mukilteo Dental Center is hosting a food drive this week along with Aloha Spirit Week to benefit the Mukilteo Food Bank. The last day to donate is Friday, July 25.
“We heard that the demand is really high, since kids are out of school,” said Dr. Nhi Pham, DDS. “They need items like fresh milk and dairy products. We made a donation ... but we felt it just wasn't enough.”
Coconut and pineapple donation cans were made by a patient to collect loose change. Drop off donations at the office, which is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The dentist office will match these funds to give to the food bank to buy fresh foods.
Pham said the food drive continues to spread the spirit of Aloha and remind everyone to donate all year round, not just at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Last week, the office had a Team Aloha Celebration at Bobby's Hawaiian Restaurant to celebrate its Team Spirit. Patients who are a part of Hokulani Hula performed hula and then taught the team the dance.
“Our mission at Mukilteo Dental Center is not only make our patient's smiles happier and healthier, but to also reach out to our community at large to show them how much we care,” Pham said. “We call ourselves the ‘MDC Phamily,’ and we fully embrace the Spirit of Aloha.”
The Mukilteo Dental Center is at 7928 Mukilteo Speedway Ste. 201 in Mukilteo. Call 425-347-4141 for more information.
