End summer with Broadway tunes, ice cream

Aug 21, 2013

Summer Aire is performing an end of summer concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, at Everett’s First Presbyterian Church. An ice cream social will follow the concert.

The group of musicians includes singers from the Everett Chorale and area churches who wanted to sing throughout the summer.

They will present the seventh annual End of Summer Concert and Ice Cream Social at the church at 2936 Rockefeller Ave.

This year, the concert theme is “Broadway Alive, Again” and will include music from Wilson’s “The Music Man,” Kern and Hammerstein’s “Show Boat,” Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera,” Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “There Is Nothing Like a Dame,” “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair” and more.

The concert is free, although there is a suggested donation of $5.

The church is on the corner of Rockefeller Avenue and Wall Street – across the street from the County Court House.
