Everett bests Mariner 44-35 | Boys prep basketball
The Mariner boys basketball team started the season with a non-conference loss to Everett on Tuesday, Dec. 3. The final score was 44-35.
Everett led 8-7 at the end of the first quarter, adding 11 in the second quarter, while holding the Marauders to three points.
Mariner scored 18 points in the third quarter, with Everett scoring 14. In the fourth quarter Mariner hit seven points, while Everett scored 11.
Ryan Mendoza posted nine points for the Marauders during the game, while teammate Kevin Villalobos had eight points and Andre Haghgoo added seven. Gregory Whitaker had five points in the game and DeRhaun Mallett posted six points during the loss.
Mariner will play Shorewood in a non-league game on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7:15 p.m.
