Edmonds Floretum Garden Club will be holding the third event in their series of Saturday workshops on Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. until noon.
Jeanette Moyer, who is the owner/operator of Welcoming Gardens, will be speaking on the topic of "Ergonomic Design Considerations Enabling Work in the Home Garden." She is a Certified Professional Horticulturist who holds a degree in Environmental Horticulture.
Jeanette has learned firsthand how to accommodate her disabilities so that she can continue to enjoy gardening and makes this a focus of her landscape design and fine gardening business.
In the fall of 2010 her article "Designing a Welcoming Garden for the Disabled" was featured in the Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association's B & B publication.
Saturday's discussion will revolve around how to work in the garden as physical conditions change and age factors present themselves in our lives.
She will offer hints to help the gardener work smarter instead of harder. Jeanette will also share some highlights from her experience as an exhibitor at the NW Flower and Garden Show this year.
The presentation will be in the meeting room of Coldwell Banker Bain at 108 5th Ave. S. in Edmonds.
All are welcome. A donation of $2 is suggested.
