Get all your tree questions answered
The Mukilteo Way Garden Club presents “Myths Debunked: And All Your Tree Questions Answered” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Rosehill Community Center in Mukilteo.
Learn practical tree knowledge for homeowners, developers and planners during this free presentation by Scott Baker, a principal consulting arborist for Tree Solutions, Inc.
Baker will answer your questions about trees, such as: Do I need an arborist? Do I prune in January or July? Are trees impacting my view? What is that lichen doing to my tree?
How do trees affect my property value? My neighbor cut my tree, now what do I do? Are trees and steep slopes a benefit or a liability? And many more.
“He has knowledge that would be pertinent to everybody whether it’s your neighbors trees or your trees,” said Jean Skerlong, Garden Club president. “I think maybe everybody in the community would maybe have a tree question for him.”
Baker, founder of the Seattle-based Tree Solutions Inc., has worked with trees for more than 30 years.
He has extensive experience with site management issues, building codes, site design and construction. He uses his experience as a developer to help bridge the gap between development and trees.
A tree biology expert, Baker also has partnered with several scientists to implement new tools and techniques that introduce more science and technology into arboriculture.
He is a registered consulting arborist with the American Society of Consulting Arborists, board certified master arborist, certified tree risk assessor and a Washington State Department of Agriculture licensed commercial pest control consultant.
This presentation is sponsored by Mukilteo Historical Society, Japanese Gulch Group and Mukilteo Wildlife Habitat Project.
