Get help applying for financial aid for college at five workshops in Snohomish County during the month of January.

Students and their families can get free, professional help filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for college for 2013-2014.

The FAFSA is required for students to be considered for federal and state grants, loans and scholarships at most colleges, universities and vocational/technical schools nationwide.

Help is available at the following locations:

• Jan. 7 – 6-8:30 p.m., Stanwood High School, 7400 272nd St. NW, Stanwood

• Jan. 12 – 1-5 p.m., Everett High School, 2416 Colby Ave., Everett

• Jan. 14 – 5:30-7:30 p.m., Cascade High School, 801 E. Casino Road, Everett

• Jan. 24 – 6-8 p.m., Everett Community College East Campus, 14090 Fryelands Blvd., Lake Tye Bldg., Ste. 373, Monroe

• Jan. 26 – 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Everett Community College Main Campus, , 2000 Tower St., Everett.

Assistance is available to everyone considering post-secondary education during 2013-14.
