Golfers donate $6,000 to wounded warriors
The Harbour Pointe Men’s Club hosted the Red, White and Blue Wounded Warriors Golf Tournament held on July 4 at the Harbour Pointe Golf Club to raise awareness and funds for the non-profit Heartbeat – Serving Wounded Warriors.
On July 25, the golfers donated more than $6,000 to Heartbeat. Last year, the golf tournament raised $5,000.
Players from the tournament presented a check for $6,002 to Janice Buckley, founder and president of Heartbeat, at the golf club. In return, Buckley gave them a plaque of thanks.
“As a recipient of this, we’re extremely grateful,” she said. “We can’t do what we do for the wounded warriors without the support of the community.”
The donors were: Harbour Pointe Golf Club, Harbour Pointe Men’s Club, Karmichael Auto Salon, Degginger McIntosh Insurance, North Creek Roofing, Express Construction and Mike Ritter.
