Help support victims of domestic violence | Letter

Apr 02, 2014

Editor, The Beacon:

I am helping organize a women's running event called the Snohomish Women's Run, taking place on May 18. I was super excited to be asked to help with planning the event and finding a non-profit organization to support.

This run will support Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County. Supporting a local organization is really important to me.

The sad truth is that abuse – whether physical, mental or emotional – is one of those things that doesn't get talked about. We only hear about the horror stories.

Our event is capped at only 500 runners for this first year, and we really need your support. Even a couple dollars will make a difference.

DVS is a local non-profit our race is supporting, and I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support in helping me with my fundraising efforts.

Contributions play a vital role to clients and the agency. It is through contributions from individuals and organizations that the doors remain open, phone lines are answered and services are provided.

Every contribution, no matter its size, is highly valued and greatly appreciated.

If it's easier, you can send a check payable to the Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County to:
