Maddy Duffy, 8, dresses Eeyore the Beagle in his Superdog costume for Mukilteo's Pet Parade on July 18 with help from her aunt, Cindy Weyers.
Dogs and their owners paraded through Old Town and to Lighthouse Park in celebration of the new Tails and Trails Mukilteo Dog Park. The dog park is scheduled to open later this year in a meadow in Japanese Gulch, just off of 5th Street.
Tails and Trails Off Leash Mukilteo sponsored the pet parade. Another parade is scheduled for Aug. 15. Fun and funny costumes are encouraged.
"Let your pup strut its stuff in support of Mukilteo’s first off-leash dog park," said Sally Osborn, a dog park advocate.
The parade begins at 6 p.m. Meet in the Art Building parking lot at 724 1st St. The parade is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome.
