Jackson beats Kamiak 5-2 | Boys prep tennis

The Jackson boys tennis team will finish the regular season as league champions, after beating Kamiak 5-2 on Monday, Oct. 14. The Knights will finished the year in second place, having only lost to the Timberwolves in league play.

In singles matches, Ben Mietzner defeated Jimmy Hua 6-2, 6-1, while Joseph Lee beat Peter Cung 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (13-11) and Daniel Chung lost to Grant Follis 6-1, 6-3. Janson Garside lost to Luke George 6-0, 6-1.

In doubles matches, Dominic Lee and Garrett Peterson beat Bence Dar and Nick Magarelli 7-5, 6-2, while Jackson’s Trevor Pence and Josh Yi beat Brian Moon and Lan Kim 6-2, 6-1. Oliver Collins and Ben Lee lost to JT Williamson and Patrick Follis 6-3, 6-3.

The playoffs will begin next week with the 4A South Division tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Jackson High School.
