Jackson beats Kamiak | Girls prep basketball

The Kamiak girls basketball team lost a league match to Jackson on Saturday, Jan. 4. The final score was 75-53.

Jackson led 16-12 at the end of the first quarter, and outscored the Knights 16-15 in the second to lead 32-27 at halftime.

Jackson extended their lead in the third quarter by adding 25 points to Kamiak's 15, and outscored the Knights 18-11 in the fourth to win the game.

Kamiak's Margaret Slack scored 17 points during the game, with Sarah Payne added eight and both Katy Hamill and Jamie Beirne scoring six points. Alea Marrero added five points, Monique Canda scored four points, as did Nora Aboulhosn, and Emily Pillman scored two points while Salena Taylor added one.

Kamiak is now 2-3 in league and 4-6 overall this season. The team will play a non-league game against Lake Stevens at home on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 7:15 p.m.
