Japanese Gulch event ‘enchanted’ by support | Letter

Feb 12, 2014

Editor, The Beacon:

On behalf of the Japanese Gulch Group, I want to thank everyone who supported our Enchanted Forest Celebration on Feb. 1, a fundraiser to celebrate the recent purchase of forest land and to raise funds to sustain Japanese Gulch as an urban forest and wildlife corridor.

We netted more than $34,000 now that the property has been purchased and saved from commercial development.

Our success wouldn't have been possible without the support of our sponsors University Mechanical Contractors, Forterra, The Bicycle Centre, Mukilteo Beacon and the generosity of our donors and event patrons.

Special thanks to emcee Joe Marine and our amazing auctioneer Dale Sherman for donating their services and to the auction committee who worked tirelessly before, during and after the event.

Our deepest gratitude to the volunteers who donated their time and talents to our event and our compliments to Shawn O'Donnell's American Grill & Irish Pub and his staff for the amazing dinner and service.

It's great to live in a community that cares about preserving the gulch. The support is greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Sheila Countryman-Bean
