Japanese tea ceremony Nov. 9 at EvCC

Celebrate autumn with a traditional Robiraki Chakai, gathering around the hearth tea ceremony, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Everett Community College’s Nippon Business Institute.

The ceremony, hosted by the East-West Chanoyu Center, is at the NBI’s tearoom and garden, 905 Wetmore Ave. in Everett. Admission is $15 per person (participants must be age 16 or older). A parking pass for campus parking is included.

The NBI is an academic program of EvCC that focuses on Japanese language, culture and history.

The East-West Chanoyu Center is a non-profit educational organization that offers programs for the broader community to experience Japan's multifaceted tea culture, including tea ceremony instruction, presentations and demonstrations.
