Kamiak alums compete at college meets | Track and field

Kamiak High School track and field alum were busy at a number of college competitions last month.

Tim Beard, of Azusa Pacific, placed third in the hammer throw at the PacWest Conference Championships Saturday, April 29 in San Diego. Beard’s throw of 177 feet, 2 inches, met the provisional qualifying standard for nationals.

Ben Halladay of Seattle Pacific placed 12th in the 1,500 and helped the Falcon 1,600 relay team to a third place finish at the Ralph Vernacchia Invite.

Tomislov Smith of Lewis and Clark placed fifth in the 1,500 and Joey Davis, also of Lewis and Clark, was 12th in the 800 at the Cougar Invite on Saturday, April 29.

Jacob Krause, of Clackmas Community College, was 26th in the 400 at the Cougar Open on Saturday, April 22.
