Kamiak beats Cascade Friday night | Girls prep basketball
The Kamiak girls basketball team beat Cascade on Friday night in a Wesco 4A South league match up. The Knights won 50-37.
Kamiak led 13-8 at the end of the first quarter, but Cascade outscored the Knights 8-5 in the second, making it a 18-16 game at halftime.
Kamiak added to their lead with a 10-9 third quarter, and posted a big 22 points to Cascade's 12 in the fourth to win the game.
Kamiak's Salena Taylor scored 15 points during the win, Nora Aboulhosn added 12 points and Aubrey Patrick scored eight. Margaret Slack had seven points during the match, Katy Hamill posted five and Alexie Morris posted three.
The Knights, now 2-1 in league and 2-3 overall this season, will play in the KingCo/Wesco Challenge beginning Friday, Dec. 27 at Juanita High School. The team returns to league action on Jan. 2 against Edmonds-Woodway.
