Kamiak beats Ingraham in Bothell tournament | Boys prep basketball
The Kamiak boys basketball team competed in the Bothell Holiday Tournament over the weekend, beating Ingraham on Saturday and losing to Ballard on Friday.
Against Ingraham on Dec. 28, the Knights won 56-47.
Kamiak led 9-6 at the end of the first quarter, followed by a 20-10 second quarter for Kamiak to lead 29-16 at halftime.
In the secodn half, Ingraham outscored the Knights 17-12 in the third, but Kamiak stormed back in the fourth, outscoring Ingraham 15-14.
Henderson Belk scored a team high of 14 points during the win, Tyler Nielson scored 12 points, while Drew Blacksmith added eight points. Nate Schubert scored seven points, Simran Mand added five points, Faris Anas scored three points and Chance Lord, Aman Hussein, Jonthan Lee, each scored two points. Gavin Patricked scored a point.
On Friday, Dec. 27, the Knights lost to Ballard 59-39 in the Bothell tournament.
Ballard had a 18-9 lead at the end of the first quarter, with a 30-21 lead at halftime.
Ballard outscored the Knights 16-10 in the third quarter, and though Kamiak outscored the Beavers 8-7 in the fourth, it wasn’t enough to earn the win.
Schubert scored eight points in the loss, while Belk and Nielsen added six. Blacksmith scored five points, Patrick scored four, Brock Merkley added three, as did Lord and Hussein, while Lee scored one point.
The Knights are 3-4 this season and will play in their final game of the tournament on Monday, Dec. 30 before taking on Edmonds-Woodway on Jan. 2 at 7:15 p.m.
