Kamiak beats Juanita at Bothell tournament | Boys prep basketball
The Kamiak boys basketball team earned a non-league win over Juanita on Monday, Dec. 30 in the Bothell Holiday tournament.
The final score was 64-60.
Juanita led 23-17 at the end of the first quarter, but Kamiak outscored the Rebels 21-13 in the second to give the Knights a 38-36 lead at halftime.
Kamiak out scored Juanita 15-9 in the third quarter, and though Juanita outscored Kamiak 15-11 in the fourth, the Knights held on for the win.
Tyler Nielsen had a team high of 22 points, while teammate Drew Blacksmith scored 11 points. Henderson Belk added six points, Nate Schubert and Chance Lord each scored five and Jonathan Lee added four to the total. Brock Merkley and SImran Mand each scored three points,with Aman Hussein, and Gavin Patrick scoring two each. Faris Anas scored one point during the win.
Kamiak, now 4-4 this season, will play at Edmonds-Woodway on Thursday, Jan. 2 in a 7:15 p.m. game.
