Kamiak beats Kent-Meridian at Kirkland tournament | Girls prep basketball

The Kamiak girls basketball team earned a final win at the Rebel Challenge tournament in Kirkland on Monday, Dec. 30.

The Knights beat Kent-Meridian 51-34.

Kamiak led 8-0 at the end of the first quarter and added 14 points in the second for a halftime score of 22-8.

In the third quarter, Kamiak outscored Kent-Meridian 17-9, and were outscored 17-12 in the final minutes.

Kamiak’s Sarah Payne scored eight points during the win, while Margaret Slack and Aliea Marrero added seven each. Jamie Beirne and Aubrey Patrick scored six, Tiana Roe and Salena Taylor scored four, Katy Hamill scored two and Emily Pillman scored one.

The Knights are 3-4 this season and will host Edmonds-Woodway on Thursday, Jan. 2 at 7:15 p.m.
