Kamiak beats Lake Stevens | Girls prep basketball

The Kamiak girls basketball team picked up a non-league win on Tuesday, Jan. 7, beating Lake Stevens 47-44.

The Knights trailed 9-8 after one quarter, and tied the game at 20 points at halftime.

Kamiak outscored the Vikings 17-13 in the third quarter, and added 10 points in the fourth to Lake Stevens 11.

Margaret Slack scored 16 points during the win, Aliea Muerrero scored seven points, with Sarah Payne and Nora Aboulhosn each scoring six points. Emily Pillman and Salena Taylor added five points each, while Kaiya Larsen scored two points.

Kamiak, now 2-4 in league and 4-7 overall, will play at Snohomish on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7:15 p.m.
