Kamiak beats Mariner 8-1 | Girls prep soccer

The Kamiak girls soccer team closed out the regular season with an 8-1 win over Mariner on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

The Knights, celebrated senior night and all six of the team’s seniors scored during the game.

Baylie Lux-Lowry scored twice for the Knights, while Christine Heisin, Chardalise Madrigal, Jordan Shabozi, Breylyn Kussman, Emily Justin and Julia Meyer each scored one goal.

Mariner’s Naomi Eastland scored the Marauder’s only goal.

Kamiak finished with a 11-4 regular season record and 11-4-2 overall. Mariner finished the season with a 0-13 record.

Kamiak will begin the post season with the district tournament this weekend as the No. 3 seed. The Knights will play at Arlington on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. The winner moves on to the semifinals against Edmonds-Woodway on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. The top three teams in the district tournament earn spots in the state tournament.

Playoff information will be updated as the tournament are played.
