Kamiak beats Mariner in Stinky Shoe game | Boys prep basketball

The Kamiak boys basketball team beat Mariner on Wednesday, Jan. 29 to win the annual Stinky Shoe game. The final score was 61-28 for the Knights.

Kamiak led 16-0 after one quarter and added 22 points in the second, while holding the Marauders to just 10 points in the first half.

In the third quarter, the Knights outscored Mariner 16-10 and posted a 9-8 fourth quarter to earn the win.

For Kamiak, Tyler Nielsen scored a game high 23 points, while Aman Hussein scored 13 points and Drew Blacksmith scored eight points. Faris Anas hit five points, Gavin Patrick scored four points for the Knights, while Jonathan Lee scored three and both Chance Lord and Henderson Belk each scored two. Coleman Grayson scored one point.

For Mariner, Andre Haghgoo scored eight points, as did Ryan Mendoza, while both Kevin Villalobos and Erwin Dzeko each scored three points. Anthany Smith, Gregory Whitaker and DeRhaun Mallett scored two points each.

The Knights, now 7-5 in league and 9-8 overall, will play at Cascade on Friday, Jan. 31 at 7:15 p.m.

Mariner, now 1-11 in league and 2-15 overall, will play at Edmonds-Woodway on Friday, Jan. 31 at 7:15 p.m.
