Kamiak beats Shorecrest in non-conference match | Girls prep swimming
The Kamiak girls swim team hosted Shorecrest in it’s first meet of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The final score was 116-67 for the Knights.
In the 200 freestyle relay, Kamiak won with the team of Laura Johnson, Angeline Dovinh, Ingrid Straume and Nicole Hoot, with a time of 2:05.31.
In the 200 individual medley race, Kamiak’s Dovinh won the race in 2:23.80, while her teammate Haley Laskley won the 50 freestyle sprint in 27.35 seconds.
Lindzey Maddux won the diving competition for the Knights with a final score of 141.90. In the 100 butterfly, Lindsey Willis won the race in 1:10.61, while Laura Johnson won the 100 freestyle event in 57.23 seconds. Paula Kimmerling earned the 500 freestyle win in 5:49.78.
Kamiak’s 200 freestyle relay team of Hoot, Dovinh, Stina Seaberg and Keri Gompf won the event in 1:54.93. In the 100 backstroke race, Kamiak’s Ingrid Straume won in 1:04.21. The Knight’s 400 freestyle relay team of Seaberg, Rosanna Holod, Daniela Crosby and Laura Johnson won in 4:05.83.
The Knights will host Lynnwood on Thursday, Sept. 19 in a 3:15 p.m. match at the Kamiak High School pool.
