Kamiak boys first, girls third at league meet | Prep cross country
The Kamiak boys cross country team won it’s first meet of the season at Mountlake Terrace on Thursday, Sept. 26. The Knights girls team finished in third place with 52 points, while the boys won with 25 points against the Hawks and Lynnwood.
Individually, Seth Villanueva won the boys race in 14:10, a new course record. Teammate Jerry Behrens was third in 14:16, while Ben Halladay was fifth in 14:44. Cullen McEachern was seventh in 14:56, Skyler Bradford finished in ninth place in 15:02, Bo Gould was 10th, Roger Klaaskate was 12th and Hobb Kimmerling was 15th. Nathaniel Davis was 17th overall, followed by Chris Moreton in 18th, Alex Mckennon in 19th and Michael Wanner in 20th place.
In the girls race, Nicole Vijgen finished in seventh place in 17:52, while Tiffany Roe finished in ninth place in 18:39. Tiana Roe was 10th in 18:39, followed by Chloe Morrison in 19:05 for 11th place. Annika Engbloom finished in 20:10 for 15th place, while Katie Smith was 17th, Carmen Schuster was 21st, Jinny Hyung was 23rd and Leah Fisher was 25th.
The Knights will compete against Stanwood and Shorecrest on Oct. 3 at Hamlin Park.
