Kamiak boys golf eighth at state

The Kamiak boys golf team finished in eighth place at the 4A state tournament at Camas Meadows Golf Course on Thursday, May 29.

The Knights earned a team score of 40 points, while Puyallup won the team title with 112 points.

Individually, Matt Kornegay was the top placer for the Knights at 27th place overall. He finished the two-day tournament with a final score of 155, after an 80 on the first day and hitting 75 on the second day.

Ryan Kerr finished in 46th place with a total of 166, hitting 78 on the first day and shooting 88 on the second.

Teammate Steven Cabanday did not make the first day cut of 80 after shooting 84 in the first round.
