Coach: Chris Erickson

Number of athletes: Between 40 and 50

Last season: The Knights won the 4A state title, going undefeated during the regular season.

Strengths: “Our returners,” said head coach Chris Erickson. “The kids who were at state last year are a strong point.”

Focus: “Fundamentals and conditioning,” said Erickson. “A fundamentals refresher never hurts, even for the kids who are in really good shape. Trying to give appropriate conditioning to the ones who are in shape and the ones, who gosh, haven’t done anything in nine months.”

Captains: Seniors Alonzo Tacuyan and Kris Kusada

Tacuyan said his goal this season, personally, is to break the school’s 200 freestyle relay record, and for the team is to win the state title again.

“I say we have a pretty tough team, it’s going to be tough to

win state, but if we all place in an event it’s possible,” said the senior.

Meet to watch: Shorewood and Shorecrest

“Shorecrest, we only beat them by four points last year and then Shorewood (which Kamiak beat by one point),” said Erickson.

The Knights will take on Shorecrest in the first meet of the year, Dec. 10, at 3:15 p.m. and will not see Shorewood until Jan. 28.
