Kamiak competes in Twilight Invitational, non-league meet | Prep cross country
The Kamiak cross country team competed in an annual favorite on Saturday, Oct. 5, heading north to Marysville for the Twilight Invitational.
Over 60 teams took part in the evening race at Cedarcrest Golf Course, with the final race of the day under the lights. The Kamiak boys team finished fourth overall, while the girls were 10th.
Individually in the boys race, Seth Villanueva was 21st in 16:27, while Ben Halladay was 28th in 16:32, Jerry Behrens was 31st in 16:35, Cullen McEachern was 53rd in 16:57 and Bo Gould was 62nd in 17:05.
In the girls race, Nicole Vijgen was 40th in 20:02, Molly McEachern was 48th in 20:17, while Tiana Roe was 66th in 20:50, Heather Pearson was 84th in 21:09 and Brittney Friend was 93rd in 21:26.
A few days before, the Knights competed against Shorecrest and Snohomish at Hamlin Park in a non-league meet.
The Kamiak boys finished in second place with 36 points, while the girls were also second with 36 points.
In the boys race, Behrens finished in 18:03, Halladay finished in 18:34, while Gould finished in 19:12, Skyler Bradford finished in 19:19 and Roger Klaaskate finished in 19:35.
In the girls race, Molly McEachern finished in 22:48, followed by Roe in 22:57, Tiffany Roe in 22:58, Chloe Morrison in 22:49 and Friend finished in 23:51.
Kamiak will travel to Skagit Valley College on Thursday, Oct. 10 for a 3:45 p.m. meet against Mount Vernon and Lynnwood.
