Kamiak's football team improved to 2-1 this season with a solid 35-19 win over 3A Shorecrest on Friday, Sept. 20.

The Knights kicked off the night with two touchdowns in the first quarter, scoring first when Josias Hawkins returned a blocked punt for 25 yards, followed by a 3-yard Tyler Webley run later in the quarter to give Kamiak a 14-0 lead.

In the second quarter, Henderson Belk caught a 31-yard pass from quarterback Tyler Becker, but Shorecrest followed suit, scoring the Scots first points off a 28-yard run by Nik Hendricks. The first half ended with Kamiak leading 21-7.

Neither team was able to capitalize on opportunities in the third quarter, but Kamiak's Becker scored from 1-yard out to lift the team to a 28-7 lead. Shorecrest scored twice in the fourth, the first off a 5-yard run by Hendricks, but the kick failed to make the score 28-13. The second touchdown was from a 10-yard pass to Jake Oliver from Hendricks. The two-point conversion pass failed, and the score was 28-19 for the Knights. Kamiak finished the game with it's final touchdown, this time with Belk connecting with Becker for a 65-yard pass.

Kamiak will take on Lynnwood, 0-2 so far this season, on Friday, Sept. 27 in an 8 p.m. game at Edmonds Stadium.
