Kamiak falls to Holy Names | Girls prep basketball

The Kamiak girls basketball team played in the Rebel Challenge tournament over the holidays at Juanita High School in Kirkland. The team lost on Saturday, Dec. 28 to Holy Names.

The final score was 43-33 for the Cougars.

Holy Names led 17-9 at the end of the first, but Kamiak outscored the Cougars 12-7 at the end of the second to make it a 24-21 game at halftime.

Holy Names held the Knights scoreless in the third quarter, while the Cougars scored eight points. The Knights posted a 12-11 fourth quarter, but still trailed by 10 at the end of the match.

Margaret Slack scored seven points, Katy Hamill and Nora Aboulhosn each scored six points during the game and Alexi Morris added five points. Emily Pillman scored three points, while Aliea Murraro, Kiaya Larsen and Jamie Beime scored two points each.

The Knights, now 3-4 this season, will against Kent-Meridian on Monday, Dec. 30 at 6 p.m. in the final game of the tournament. Kamiak will host Edmonds-Woodway on Thursday, Jan. 2 in a 7:15 p.m. game.
