Kamiak girls basketball beats rival Mariner | Girls prep basketball

The Kamiak girls basketball team beat cross-town rival Mariner on Wednesday, Dec. 18. The final score was 64-23 for the Knights.

Kamiak led 17-2 at the end of the first, adding 16 in the second quarter to led 33-9 at halftime.

In the second half, Kamiak led the third quarter scoring 8-6, and had a huge fourth quarter, outpacing the Marauders 23-6.

Aubrey Patrick led the Knights with 12 points during the win, Salena Taylor and Nora Aboulhosn each posted 10 points, Margaret Slack followed by nine and Aliea Marrero scored six points. Nicolette Kendrick scored four points, while Katy Hamill and Alexie Morris scored two points each and Kaily Larson scored one point.

For Mariner, Realene Nicolas scored 15 points, Amela Grebovic scored four points, while Naomi Eastland and Marli Koba scored one point each.

The Knights are 1-1 in league and 1-3 overall this season and will play at Cascade on Friday, Dec. 20 in a 7:15 p.m. match. Mariner will travel to Edmonds-Woodway on Dec. 20 for a 7:15 p.m. league game.
