Kamiak girls golf fifth at state championship

The Kamiak girls golf team finished in fifth place at the 4A state tournament at Club Green Meadows on Thursday, May 29.

The Knights earned a final score of 41 points, while Bellarmine Prep won the team competition with 181.5 points.

Individually, Katherine Choi finished tied for 19th place with a two-day total of 171, after shooting 85 on the first day and 86 on the second day of the tournament.

Teammate Renee Kwak was 27th overall at 176, with a first day total of 87 and second day total of 89.

Hannah Lee came in 36th overall at 182, after shooting 90 on the first day and 92 on day two.

Teammate Shawna Cabanday did not qualify for the second day of the tournament after hitting 94 on the first day. Simran Handa also completed day one behind the cut with a score of 101.
