Kamiak holds off Kennedy Catholic | Boys prep lacrosse

The Kamiak boys lacrosse team earned a non-league win over Kennedy Catholic on Thursday, April 24.

Kamiak won 15-11 in a game at Foster High School.

The teams were tied 2-2 after one quarter, before Kamiak went on a run in the second quarter, adding five points to Kennedy’s one. Kamiak led 7-3 at halftime.

In the second half, Kennedy outscored Kamiak 4-3 in the third quarter, but Kamiak took control in the fourth, scoring five goals to Kennedy’s four.

Kamiak’s Miles Craggs scored five goals with two assists and two ground balls, while Jacob Schmidt had three goals, two assists and six ground balls. Liew Rust had three goals, one assist and six ground balls, while teammate Tyler Keele added two goals with two assists. Ian Carlson made nine saves for the team.

Kamiak, now 4-2 in league and 5-2 overall, will play Burlington-Edison on Wednesday, April 30 at 7 p.m. at Mount Vernon High School.
