Kamiak hosts first meet of the season | Prep cross country
The Kamiak boys and girls cross country teams hosted their first cross country meet of the season. The race, at Kamiak High School, was against Jackson, Glacier Peak and Lake Stevens.
In the boys competition, Jackson finished in first place with 35 points, Glacier Peak second with 39, Lake Stevens third with 69 and Kamiak fourth with 82 points.
Individually, (first names not given) Villanueva finished in third place in 14:18, while McEachern was 14th in 14:41. Halladay finished in 18th place in 14:47, while Bradford was 22nd in 14:59. Klaaskate was 25th overall in 15:04.
In the girls meet, Jackson finished in first place with 27 points, while Glacier Peak was second with 32 points. Lake Stevens was third overall with 88 points and Kamiak earned 99 points for fourth place.
Individually for the Knights, Roe finished in 13th place in 18:15, while 16th place went to Friend in 18:28. Morrison was 19th overall in 18:42 and Engbloom finished in 25th place in 20:08. Smith was 26th overall in 20:17.
The Knights will travel to the Fort Steilacoom Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 21 for a 9 a.m. meet.
