Kamiak loses to league leader Jackson | Boys prep basketball

The Kamiak boys basketball team hosted Jackson, the No. 1 team in the league on Saturday, Jan. 4. The Knights lost 69-45.

Jackson led 21-13 after one quarter, adding 17 points to Kamiak's 11 in the second quarter. Jackson led 38-24 at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Timberwolves extended their lead with 19 points to Kamiak's 12, and held the Knights to just nine points in the final minutes of the match, while scoring 12.

Tyler Nielsen scored a team high of 14 points, while Drew Blacksmith added 10. Gavin Patrick scored six points, with Henderson Belk and Jonathan Lee each adding five points to the board and Brock Merkley scored three points.

The Knights, now 2-3 this season and 4-6 overall, will travel to Lake Stevens on Tuesday, Jan. 7 for a 7:15 p.m. game.
