Kamiak singles, doubles players move on to District tournament | Boys prep tennis

Mariner players earn alternate spots

Several members of the Kamiak boys tennis earn earned spots in the 4A District tournament next week, after playing in the 4A South division tournament at Jackson High School on Oct. 23.

Jimmy Hua finished in third place, beating teammate Joseph Lee, who finished in fourth, with a final match score of 6-3, 6-2. Both advanced to the district tournament.

In doubles, Dominic Lee and Garrett Peterson took second place, after losing 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) to Peter Cung and Luke George from Jackson. The duo will also represent the Knights in the district tournament.

Mariner’s Alex Hoang and Kal Johal finished the doubles tournament in fifth place, beating Kamiak’s Lam Kim and Oliver Collins 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. Both teams will serve as district alternates.

The 4A District tournament will begin Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Mount Vernon High School.
