Kamiak tennis players fourth, third at district tournament | Boys prep tennis

Kamiak tennis players Jimmy Hua and doubles team Dominic Lee and Garrett Peterson finished in fourth and third place at the 4A district tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

In singles matches, Hua lost to Arlington’s Trent Sarver 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 to finish in third place. The day before, Hua beat Connor Ghirardo from Arlington 6-0, 6-0 in the quarterfinals, after beating and Stanwood’s Kincaid Norris 6-2, 6-2 before losing to eventual second place finisher Patrick Chung.

Joseph Lee lost to Sarver on Oct. 29 in the quarterfinals, falling 6-7 (5-7) 6-4, 6-2. Lee went on to beat Kincaid Norris from Snohomish 6-0, 6-1, in the consolation round.

In doubles matches, Dominic Lee and Garrett Peterson beat Peter Cung and Luke George from Jackson in a 6-4, 7-5 match on Wednesday.

The duo beat Collin Gagnon and Drake Wilson from Snohomish 6-1, 6-2 in the quarterfinals on Tuesday afternoon.

The pair lost to Mount Vernon’s Casey Goodwin and Kyle Frederick in the semifinals 6-3, 6-2.
