Kentucky Derby - Place Your Bets

By Frank the Man | May 06, 2011

The first Saturday in May can mean only one thing  -  it’s Kentucky Derby Day.

In some ways, it’s the perfect American sports event.

Unlike March Madness that takes almost three weeks to finish, or any of the pro sports’ playoffs which can last two months, the Derby is over and done with in two short minutes.

Speaking of over and done with in two short minutes….this year’s Derby holds sentimental value for the readers of this fine publication, as the colt starting from the #1 position, Archarcharch,  would seem to have been named after our dear publisher.

The origin of the colt’s name is unknown.

Maybe the name was first uttered when a disgusted Burger King fan found only Big Mac distributorships along the highway.

Or it could have been moaned in a moment of passion (or disappointment) in the Archipley abode.

Regardless, at a pre-race price of a lucky 13-1, backing this hunch play could prove profitable, if not satisfying to one’s needs.

There’s no question about it.
